How to Eat a Rainbow!
‘How to Eat a Rainbow: Magical Raw Vegan Recipes for Kids!’ is my first printed recipe book and I couldn’t be prouder of it! Created with my artist Sister in Law Sabrina, this book is full of tasty recipes as well as designed to really appeal to children.
I decided to create the book as my girls love helping in the kitchen, but were desperate for a book of recipes of their own. So when my search for a good healthy children’s cookbook turned fruitless, I decided to write one.
How to Eat a Rainbow is a magical themed healthy children’s recipe book that targets the most difficult dietary areas: treats, snacks, and drinks. All the recipes are also refined sugar free and gluten free, and, eaten alongside a balanced whole foods diet, these recipes can add an extra boost of energy and get kids excited about healthy eating!
How to Eat a Rainbow really teaches children how to fill their plates with fruits and vegetables in all the colors of the rainbow, and the importance of eating a variety of colors every day. Each recipe is a world children can dive into while they unpack the ingredients and make their own work of art. These fairies are hard at work (though some are a bit lazy) and are meant to feel like part of the team, chopping down towering stalks of celery, plucking grapes, and enchanting the seeds!
Details on where you can buy the book, both as an ebook and in hardback are found on Vegan Publishers website!
Here’s what people are saying about ‘How to Eat a Rainbow!’
“As soon as I started reading this wonderfully written and illustrated book I was totally captivated! It took me back to my very own childhood, remembering my own favourite fairy book and reminding me of just how we all relate to a magical world beyond our immediate reality. What a perfect way to reach, and teach our children about the importance, and the power of healthy food, especially raw “living” foods plucked straight from Mother Nature’s rich and bountiful world. The book introduces the concept of raw foods wonderfully well and illustrates the joy and simplicity of preparing and incorporating fresh healthy foods into meals and dishes that children will absolutely love. From savoury to sweet as well as somewhere in between, there is something in here for everyone… including Mummy and Daddy!”
